- after she was "rescued" by hoffman she is adopted by the reinhart family and they start to call her bette to protect her identity from the public and press.
- spent time in a children's hospital.
- still suffers from depression, anxiety, night terrors and ptsd.
- has extreme claustrophobia.
- didn't know the truth of what happened until she was a tween which caused her to spiral into worse depression and led to her acting out and getting into trouble.
- after getting arrested she researches jigsaw and becomes consumed with anger. not understanding why he chose her parents as they don't seem to fit with the rest of his victims. she finds a jigsaw support group but chickens out of going at the last minute.
- she channels her anger back into athletics and earns a full-ride scholarship. however, after winning a state championship her identity is outed to the press. someone then as a prank sends her pictures of what happened to her parents. this kicks off a downward spiral of a deeper depression as she feels she'll never be free of what jigsaw did to her family. even though she has never drank due to what happened to her brother she begins to drink, abuse her medication and party. this leads to her losing her scholarship.
- after getting into a minor car accident due to her drinking she refocuses and throws herself into studying to become an fbi agent. she also stops drinking completely.
- she then takes back her birth name saying it was a fuck you to jigsaw.
- fantasizes about killing hoffman as she also blames him for what happened. and if she knew gordon gave her mother's name she'd blame him too.

- she may come across as cold and aloof but it's partially due to her fear of losing people. when she cares about them she cares deeply.
- she can never physically relax.
- can be snarky.
- does have a dark side that she tries to push down as much as possible. can be quick to anger and may have gone too hard during self-defence training a few times. she hasn’t told anyone how she’s fantasized about killing hoffman or things she wishes she could do to other killers or abusers. has a scrapbook of sorts of any killings that are remotely jigsaw like.
- has lied on her psych evaluations and/or bribing people in order to pass them for fear they wouldn’t let her become an agent.
- hates that jigsaw has a fansite. hates that true crime is a thing. has had a fair number of "creeps" and jigsaw fans seek her out. even has been assaulted because her dad was the one who killed john.
- has reoccurring dreams where she's visited by john or put in traps. it's usually amanda's voice that comes to her and manages to get her out of it. even if she also hates amanda.

- while i'm not currently planning on making her an "apprentice" (though I’d be open to it) if there are other saw characters (especially hoffman, amanda or gordon) who want to do aus of any kind let me know!
